dog meat loaf recipes?
does anyone have any dog meat load recipes?
I am new to making my own dog food.I am not making my own dog food 100% of the time however.They will be getting kibbles in the morning and then dog meat loaf for dinner.
and also, my friend says that she feeds her dogs kibbles but also feeds them baked chicken mixed with whole grain rice.is baked chicken with rice a sustainable meal, nutrition wise?
Jenny has hit it on the head! Cooking a dogs food kills a lot of the vitamins that they require.

My review: Taurine deficiency in dogs is often considered to be related to certain ingredients in their diet. Dogs fed diets which contained whole grain rice, rice bran or barley were found to have lower mean whole blood taurine concentrations. Additionally, plasma methionine and cysteine concentrations were lower in dogs fed diets consisting of animal meals or turkey and whole grain rice, rice brain or barley. In fact, taurine levels were higher in dogs fed corn as the first plant protein source, as opposed to whole grain brown rice. Taurine deficiency in cats has been noted to cause retinal degeneration, dilated cardiomyopathy, reproductive failure and impaired foetal development. Dogs have the metabolic capacity to synthesise taurine from dietary sulphar amino acids, cysteine and methionine, hence there is little or no need for added dietary taurine. However if a diet does not contain taurine or the precursors, abnormal cardiac function or dilated cardiomyopathy can result. These results were found in wide variety of breeds, both male and female, both entire and desexed.
