Where To Buy Horse Race Hats

What are those hats called that women wear to horse races?

My friends and I just for fun we want to buy some and wear them to an actual race lol what are they actually called and where can I buy them??

A fascinator is only one kind of hat, also known as a “cocktail hat.” Yes, women do wear them to the races. But they also wear just about any other kind of fancy hat. The ones with a very wide brim are usually called “picture” or “portrait” hats.

Here is a gallery of hats worn at the 2010 Kentucky Derby:

You can buy fancy hats at department stores, especially right before Easter. Stores such as Marshalls/TJ Maxx often have them. Or, as otehr posters have suggested, you can have fun making your own fascinator or decorating a plain hat.
