what kind of saddle do I have?
Its a western saddle and it’s in brand new condition. I mean it has no scratches on the leather, and the skirt and stuff arent bent or creased.the fleece isn’t dirty or torn or worn. I bought it quite a while back at a rummage sale, it has a little leather fob on it that says handmade in yoakum texas. and it says reinsman. what I’m wondering is is this a good saddle and is it a trail, roping, or what? I’m sure it’s not a barrel racing saddle as it has a square skirt and is heavy as he@#. I can barely lift it onto my horse. the seat isn’t padded. it doesn’t have a lot of tooling. it has a heavy duty rear cinch.
Anyhow I got lucky and it fits both my paint mare and my paint gelding, they are both big stocky horses.
oh and I paid 50 dollars for it.
oh and the stirrups don’t quite get short enough for me, is there something I can do?

hmm…could b a roping saddel jus the way u describe it…does the sit sorta push u up in away?
cus ropers will hava a big horn an a seat that ll push u up.
lol i had this same issue w/my hereford roper….
if not that… it could be a trail saddel or a show saddel.
