Is it safe to jump a horse in side reins?

I didn’t think it was safe to jump a horse (on the lunge) in side-reins. Is it? Or are these people just being irresponsible?
He was being free lunged in side reins and jumping.. No lunge line which is good because with all the other things it would have just confused him even more. The pony was so cute! XD LOL! But anyways, it isn’t the best thing to do because the horse usually plows into the bit and doesn’t get the head space he needs but this horse has done it before and keeps his neck where it needs to be to avoid contact with the bit but that means his neck is more arched like Arabs instead of him getting the head/neck reach he needs for a good jump launch. She had the jumps at a bad place too. It’s fine to do double jumps like that but she should move them about 1-2′ clooser together so that way he can pace his strides better. He can’t get another stride in with them like that so he has to jump it and it’s too long of a jump. He can make it, but it’s not proper. Needless to say, don’t jump in side reins. =)
