how to make rhythm beads, and what supplys do I need?? (horses)?
Okay… So I want to make rhythm beads, because they look really fun to make, but I need to know…
1) what kind of string/wire (to put the beads on) do I need? and where can I get it?
2) what kind of beads should I use?
3) what kind of bells or charms should I use?
4) how do you secure the tied part after your done making them so that the beads don’t come off?
If you can help me out that would be great!!
I make them. Waxed 3-4 mm cotton cord. Any kind of beads at hobby store, plastic, glass etc. Medium bells: I take and hook them to slip rings, then just slide them on wherever you want them, between the beads. On the end, you can just tie a knot in the cord. I then put alligator clips on the end. Then you can clip it to the mane or to the opposite ends of the cord.
If you look on ebay and find a real good picture of one, print it out and you can pretty much see how its done.
I made red/white/blue ones. Black and turquoise. Red. Black pearl with silver spacer beads. You can make one in about 30 minutes. Just be sure you make them long enough to go around the base of the horses’ neck.
ADDED: Don’t use yarn. it will break and rot from sweat.
