How does someone promote a new category in Yahoo answers?
This is a question with a opinion / statement.
Outdoor recreation is a such a huge topic and already covered partially in Sports. If the question is equine, ranching, hunting (rifle,gun,bow), fishing(fresh,salt), I’m finding it hard to figure out where to put my Questions. Would be better if you could choose multiple Categories, create new ones , add tags, or have the software suggest / place you automatically based on words in the question. When things are not specific enough, one wonders if it’s the right place to put certain questions and can make one feel like no one cares about the question here because there is no specific place to put it with a community around answering.
I agree with the tags comment, I’ve only been on here two days but this seems to be the biggest detractor. Categories are too narrow for a tag model and too broad for a category model.
I think Y! Answers needs to move to a tags mode. After using things like flickr and de.lico.us (however it’s spelled), hierarchical categories just seem so limiting.
