What are our options to satisfy the bank since we cant sell our home? We are not in financial crisis.?
However, a coal mine has purchased the property across the street and that will be the deep mine opening location. We hired an attorney(because we thought we owned our mineral rights) but we do not. Our #6 coal has been sold years ago. Will our property value decrease? The 2 year old ranch has been on the market since March ‘08, with 0 offers.Who would want to live across from this? There will be over 50 workers per shift and trucks running all day.
Is this enough of a hardship for the bank.? I am not paying a house payment on a newer home to live beside a coal mine.
Are we candidates for a short sale?
Can we timber the land before we leave? So at least we’ll make some money.
What options do we have?
Is it the lender’s fault that you built (bought) across the street from a new coal mine ? No, it isn’t. You have no financial hardship as long as you are able to make the payments. That the value will decrease is irrelevant.
Your best bet is to try to work out something with the coal mine operators. Perhaps they might purchase the house and convert it to some sort of office space for their operation.
