Quarter Horses For Sale In Tennessee

Is there any difference in riding a Quarter Horse or a Tennessee Walker?

Is there any difference in riding a Quarter Horse or a Tennessee Walker? (besides the walking gait) I’ve only ridden Quarter Horses/Paints for the last 9-10 years. I’m looking at a Tennessee Walker thats for sale and I’m just wondering if they “feel” any different than a QH.

HUGE difference! I converted from QHs to TWHs about 12 years ago. Biggest difference is the running walk/trot of course. I also had to buy different tack. Another thing (sad) was I found myself riding by myself alot until I started meeting more gaited horse people. Stock horse people usually aren’t very keen on all the trotting they have to do to keep up with a Walker. Still friends with them, just don’t ride with them anymore unless they ride one of my horses (which some refuse to do, some QH people can be very anti-gaited horse) or I ride one of their horses.
