are dales ponies ok for green riders?
Ok, I’m taking lessons but know very little about riding, basically just posting. Never cantered before, but I will soon at lessons! 
Anywho, theres a dales pony in my area for sale that looks really great, for pleasure riding. He is a gleding, 14 hands, has never bucked, reared, bit….and is 4 years old. Of course he would be full care boarded, just as a btw.
I have ridden quite a lot I just havent ever learned much..thanks! btw my dad owned 4 draft horses..heehee..lol
I must say it’s not the breed that I’d worry about it’s the age. In both my experience and many professionals opinions 4 year olds are often quite sweet. However, once they reach 5-6yr age they start challenging the rider and become quite difficult. This happens to many ponies/horses that seem to be angels when younger. If I were you I’d get something 8 or older just to make sure you will be able to enjoy them and get a good solid base. Dale ponies are fine though to answer that question. : )
