Drowsy heat deserted sky
brilliant sunlight dazzles eye
swish twitter tweet trill
foliage flutters hushes still
buzzing droning insects dart
forest slumbers at it’s heart
cicada sings sizzling song of heat
cattle slumber in shady retreat
everywhere, green, hot, bright
fading softly pink with night
Summer sighs hot lovers breath
baleful eye dies crimson death
I like this a lot. It has a nice flow and rhythm to it. Sure does sing of summer. Thanks for sharing.
