What to know about goats?
I own two horses, and am hoping to bring them home to my property next summer. I have always loved goats, and want to for sure have some when/if I bring my horses home. However, I don’t really know anything about taking care of them. I know about where to keep them, and have a pen already set up (previous owner of my hobby farm had goats) with plenty of things to climb on, shelter, electric waterer (Ritchie waterer, designed for goats, sheep and small livestock) and a nice tall fence so they can’t escape.
Is there anything I should add?
Also, what kinds of things can/should they eat. Grain, carrots, hay, etc. The pen has grass, but I’m sure that will be run down fairly quick.
I will be getting adult Pygmy goats.
Please tell me anything I need to know.
