Trying to understand?
My in-laws and I have not had a good relationship since my husband and I got married as they feel I was to hard on his kids, but no matter what I have tried my best to help in anyway I can. My father-in-law is terminal and in the hospital and chances are he won’t come out. For the last 1 1/2 weeks I have went to thier farm 2x a day to feed the livestock while my husband worked, we have ran to the hospital whenever needed, ran their errands etc. They have always excluded me from any “family” matters unless it benefits them. Now my mother-in-law is getting my husband into the finacial things and deciding what he and I have to do to take care of it. This affects me and my kids as well and yet I am not allowed to know what is going on. He says I am over reacting that he wouldn’t do anything to jeapordize our finances, but he has already agreed to buy the horses they had and other farm equipment without me knowing. Am I wrong here or what I am really upset over all of it.
How much do you trust your husband to make the right decisions for your family??????……..
Support your husband in whatever way he needs you to at the moment……you cant worry about how your in-laws feel about you……when they are gone, you will still have your husband and he will appreciate you standing by him….regardless of what happens….
I fought a similar battle w/in-laws once upon a time…I wish i had just supported my husband….I wish i had understood that I could make it about me and my feelings (which I did)…OR I could have let him do whatever he needed to do for his parents for him to be ok….knowing that our familys best interest was never out of him mind…….(I did not do this) OUr marraige suffered ….Now I look back and see It was not worth it…..I SHOULD have trusted him…….He was trustworthy….
They never did like me…..but now thery are gone and it doenst matter….But my ex and I are still trying to come to terms with the fallout from that time(as well as other issue)…..
PICK YOUR BATTLES CAREFULLY……….some are not worth the war they will lead up to….
