How should I go about building my own home?
I have been purchasing and reading books on natural building techniques over the past month, and it seems to be exactly what I would like to do in my lifetime. What locations in the U.S. would be most ideal for a house with the following utilizations and materials:
-Solar power (panels), heating (good sunshine, heat)
-Earthbag building for house
-Wind power
-Radiant heating in the floor
-Rainwater collection and storage (good rainfall)
-Composting toilet
-Quality soil for gardening and perhaps livestock/animals

Google ‘earthship’. Wherever you go, be SURE to check with the local gov’t. Some of them can be downright stinky when it comes to green housing.
