Limousin Breed

this is about cow breeds?

what are the disadvantages of angus, beefalo, beefmaster, black baldy, brahman, brangus, charolais, chianina, gelbvieh, hereford, limousin, shorthorn, simmental, texas longhorn. this will help me a bunch thank u!

First off, beefalo and black baldy are NOT breeds of cattle, rather composites. Beefalo can come from any breed of beef cow being bred to a bison to produce a beefalo calf. Black baldies can come from Angus-Hereford crosses or Angus-Simmental crosses, or even from Black Limousin-Traditional Simmental crosses, etc.

As for the other breeds, here is my take on the disadvantages of each, but note that not all animals within those breeds are all the same. All of the bad characteristics of each breed can be culled out of a herd to improve genetics, temperament, and health of the herd. I also added a few more popular breeds just for fun.

Angus:
- flighty, with nasty/over-protective mothers and crazy bulls
- black hided and thin skinned (making them undesirable in hot humid environments)
- too popular resulting in not enough herds with good genetics
- meat can be considered too fatty
- poor terminal breed

Beefmaster:
- Brahman breeding can make them a little nasty if not handled properly or not exposed to humans on a daily basis
- not suitable for colder winters like up in northern Canada
- large size
- docked in more northern sale barns for excess ear

Brahman:
- same with beefmaster, as far as temperament is concerned
- not suitable for colder climates like northern USA and Canada
- large size
- are allergic to most insecticides used on B. taurus cattle like Angus
- do not have a black hide for the American black-hide premium market
- docked in more northern sale barns for excess ear and horns
- poor in marbing and tenderness
- poor fertility
- very late in sexual maturity
- not quite free from genetic defects as one might think

Brangus:
- similar details as with brahman and beefmaster
- less than ideal in terms of meat tenderness

Charolais:
- more flighty/nasty than Angus
- huge size
- poor milking ability
- high calving difficulties
- overall poor maternal breed
- poor doer with minimal/no management i.e., on rangeland environment
- poorer fertility b/c longer gestation period and harder time to conceive, and late maturity
- poor adaption to beef management (they eat a LOT)
- poor marbling or very lean

Chianina
- HUGE size, larger than Charolais
- quite flighty, nervous, nasty
- throws huge calves, but has less calving difficulties than chars
- hard doer in terms of minimal management
- poor milking ability
- slightly better conception ability than Charolais, but still considered poor; later maturity
- poor adaption to beef management (in other words, they eat A LOT)
- poor marbling or very lean
- not considered a good maternal breed

Longhorn:
- long horns and speckley/mottled hide, all docked heavily in salebarns
- long gestation period
- poor milking ability

Hereford:
- poor milking ability
- known for having more problems with prolapse, cancer eye, pink eye, etc., but this can be easily selected out
- average to poor growth rate
- require a lot more patience to handle animals because of great docility; can also have some nasty ornery animals in this breed too!

Limousin:
- flighty, nervous
- late maturing
- large size
- average to poor hardiness
- average to poor ability to be efficient under minimal management

Simmental:
- large size
- heavy calf birthweights
- poor calving ease
- average to poor hardiness
- average to poor ability to be efficient under minimal management
