How much does a horse cost including food and tack?
I’m 11 and I have to earn money to buy a horse. Not only how much does a horse cost including everything for a year, but how can i earn that much as it costs? Please help!

A good horse can cost anywhere from $7,000 to $10,000+ A good saddle can cost over $1,000 and a good bridle at least $100. If you are planning on boarding your horse at an equestrian center you will have to pay monthly boarding fees and that depends on the place. (Not including lessons) But if you are going to privately own it then all you have to worry about is the cost of hay and oats and that depends on the place that you get it from. No matter what you will have vet and farrier bills but that shouldn’t be much if you have them routenly. The first year of owning a horse will always be the most expensive year because that is when you have to buy all the tack and the horse and all the other stuff. I recomend that you take as many lessons as you can if you havent been riding long and make sure that this is something you want to commit to. Horses are creatures too and that is how most horses become abused because their owners thought that they could take care of them and they couldn’t. No matter what talk to your parents and your trainer. Your parents will have to chip in on some of the costs though and if you do decide to get a horse make sure your trainer thinks you are ready for one and make sure that she comes with you to make sure the horse is something that you can ride. You still need to do ALOT of reasherch! get books and go online! That is what I did and it only hasnt helped me with knowing what the costs are but it has made me a better rider!
