Ok. If you are looking for a particular breed of horse (quarter or paint) that i would start with those association websites or magazines. I know that the paint horse journal always has a “for sale” section and there are trainers that place ads indicating that they always have stock for sale. If i were you, i would begin with a google search to try and find prominent barns and trainers in your area. And from there you can narrow it down to the farms that you want to visit. Its been my experience that usually the best horses are sold word of mouth. So usually you will have to get on the phone and call the farm or go there and take a look at what they have. If you are looking for a horse and you are in texas (which is the promised land of horses) then getting out and actually going to see what people have to offer is going to be your best bet.
