How much do Vet Tech’s make on average annually? How much do Veterinarians make annually?
I graduate high school in about a year and I’ve always wanted to be a vet and work for the ASPCA, but due to the fact that I have to pull out loans to go to college I’ve been considering being a vet tech so this way I can catch up on owed loans and go back to school. I live in New Jersey and I’m hoping to move somewhere down south like Texas, North Carolina, or California(though not in this life time due to all the issues on the West coast). I want to work with a number of animals, horses, cats, dogs, birds, and reptiles. So is it worth it to go to college to be a Vet Tech and go back to school when I catch up on owed loans or is it best to go to college to be a vet and get it done and over with? I want to be able to support myself and not so much struggle, which is why I want to know the annual salary.

Personally, I would just go to college to be a vet rather than go to school for vet tech, get loans, pay off loans (+10 years), and then go to school to be a vet. You don’t really want to be still in school when you have a mortgage, kids, etc., right?
