Should I buy or loan?
Ok, so im doing my first year of a-levels.
I have a horse on full loan atm, but i’m thinking of buying one.
The new horse would be kept at the same place that im at already, and I wouldnt take up any more of my time.
I want a change, and I dont want to loan again, as I never feel that they are fully mine.
My parents think its best to loan, as I can always give it back if schoolwork becomes too much.
I will be going to university, but I plan on going where my home is, so that I dont have to move away.
I know many people at university, who have time for horses too.
What do you think buy or loan?
I also wont have much to spend on a horse either, probs only a max of £2000, which isnt a lot, but I would like to buy a youngster and bring him/her on.
So yeah, what do you guys think?
Thanks, Ella

hi Ella
if you buy a horse of your own you can always part loan it to, so you will get money and time to keep up with work, i also agree with your parents. if you haven’t got much money then loaning is the best and cheapest option as you will have to buy a horse and feed and equipment and veterinary care, but loaning a horse will already have tack and some owners pay for everything all you have to do is look after it. i loaned a horse once and it really was like mine because i payed for everything, his owner broke his saddle and i payed for a new one!! so just be careful
hope i helped
