Question about a free lease?
If you do a free lease, what are you expected to pay for other than board and stuff? Do you or the owner pay for vet bills, shoeing, floating, etc.?
For those of you who don’t know what a free lease is: it’s where the owner agrees to let you take the horse and board it somewhere, and you don’t have to pay for the lease, only the board.

Normally with a free lease you do not have to pay for leasing the horse itself, but you are required to pay for any/all vet bills, shoeing, teeth, boarding, etc. I’m sure it varies from owner to owner but make sure you sign a contract so everything is in writing! Good luck!
