Horseback Riding In Arizona

Where should we stay in Sedona, Arizona?

Can someone give me some specific nice places to stay- hotel or b&b.

Please don’t tell me to go to hotels.com. I’d rather get some personal input on hotels.

Also- we are going for 2 nights. 1 day we definitely will be doing some art buying, but the other day should we do a pink jeep tour or horseback riding or what?

My favorite resort is The Enchantment Resort, in a secluded side red-rock canyon. Absolutely an amazing, spectacular setting. You stay in luxury private haciendas, full of atmosphere. There are horse stables nearby so you can rent a horse and ride into the upper areas of Boynton Canyon. However, it is a bit of a drive to get to the area where the better art galleries are (10 minutes maybe?).

If you are going for serious art gallery hopping, the better galleries surround Tlaquepaque, a recreation of an actual artist’s village outside Guadalajara, Mexico. It is fantastically beautiful with spanish courtyards, fountains and handmade spanish tiles everywhere. Therefore, if you want the convenience of being near this center, you may want to look at the Los Abrigados Resort which is adjacent to Tlaquepaque.

The Pink Jeep Tours are GREAT FUN. Afterwards, if you have time, you should drive from Sedona up Oak Creek Canyon towards Flagstaff. This is an amazing drive. If you are into ancient ruins, once up near Flagstaff, you can also take a look at the Anasazi cliff dwellings in Walnut Canyon, or Montezuma’s Castle is closer to Sedona.
