Must Have Accessories For That New Horse Trailer?
Must have accessories for the tack room and horse area in my new horse trailer!!??
Well, is it a straight or slant load? Head to head? How many horses? Are you going to have living quarters and where to you plan to go with said trailer??
You’ve got to have a place to sleep if you’re going to be camping with it, or doing lots of weekend/overnight shows. I like twice as many bridle hooks as horses in the trailer (for bridles, halters, ropes and extras of the above). I like a window in the tack room/ sleeping quarters- works wonders on hot nights. I like to have enough room for all of the horses tack and supplies (that’s a lot of space if its 4 horse +). I think a hay compartment above the trailer is the coolest invention ever, because it frees up so much space in the tack room for TACK!
In the horse section in a slant, I like drop down windows with bars, feed trough, open and bright in side, white in color, padded dividers and matted floors. For straight loads, same color requirement, windows and escape doors on both sides in the front, padded butt and chest bars and a large enough padded divider to keep horses from nipping at each other, etc. I also like tall trailers, but the dimensions depend on how large/ wide/ calm in the trailer the horses are that you’re hauling.
EDIT- Ok, everyone else is answering about stuff you need in your trailer when you haul. Are you asking about ‘accessories’ that you put in the trailer or options that you buy already in the trailer? Color me confused
