She’s a mutt, so if you only appreciate purebreds, don’t answer. Yes she is spayed, so no unwanted mutt puppies. (funny thing is we spayed her as soon as she was old enough, and now that she has won the state herding trials for ten years running everyone’s asking if they can get puppies off our mutt, lol)
She’s fourteen and a recently retired cow dog (we took this picture out on a hike)
Oh, and just to get this out of the way for any trolls, Just cause I call her my “ole mutt” doesn’t mean I don’t love her. She’s my favorite dog ever, and she pretty much raised me.
She’s an Aussie Shep, Blue Heeler, Catahoula mix. She is fourteen now. We found her hit by the side of the road with a broken rib as a puppy and took her in.
At the hater. Not only has she won that comp, we have 700+ head of cattle and we can work ALL of them with three riders and four dogs.
Beautiful working dog – the best kind. I’m actually surprised you spayed her, since good stock dogs (regardless of heritage) are in pretty steep demand. The nervy BCs just don’t cut it with the cattle.
Anyway, she’s a gorgeous dog, beautiful coat and head, but definitely showing her age. I call all my dogs mutts, including the purebred. It’s an affectionate term around here
