How would I contact ranchers in my community (Boulder, CO) about volunteering?
I’m a freshman in the University of Colorado at Boulder and am wondering about how I would go about contacting local farmers and ranchers in my area to offer to volunteer in caring for their livestock, as I am looking to gain more experience for another activity in college. Any ideas?
Talk with your county agricultural agent. He or she will be able to tell you about some of the ranchers and about ranchers organizations that you can contact. Check out the local livestock shows and auctions and talk with some of the ranchers and the show or auction manager for help. You can do some of that by phone or letter. You can also simply look in the yellow pages,find listings for ranches, and call and ask to talk to the owner or manager and ask about volunteering.
