What’s the best way to fund a road trip through America?
Me and my girlfriend live in the UK and have both visited places in America – but there are still places we want to visit.
like… New England, New Orleans, Texas, Indiana, Miami, San Francisco, Alabama etc and we want to do a road trip.
I think it’s probably best to buy a little car as that will be cheaper but as we won’t have a forever supply of money, i just wondered if its possible to earn a little bit of money on the way?
like farm hands, anything really, just for gas money, food and motels etc.
any tips or advice would be great.

1st off you can buy a car, but you won’t be able to register it. To register a car in the US you need to be a resident of a particular state and have auto insurance.
2nd, you just can’t “pick up” odd jobs on the way, it’s illegal without a work visa and you won’t get one being a farm hand. If you do try get a job illegally, don’t be surprised if you get caught by the INS. They are cracking down hard. Also, you really don’t want to get caught. If you do, you will be sent to an INS detention facility. You could be there for months until your case comes up because of the backlog. If convicted you will be deported and banned from coming back into the US.
Save enough money by working an extra job in the UK before you come.
