Starting own business- how to get merchandise into your store?
I want to open a tack shop (for equine supplies and apparel.) Do you contact the companies whose brands you are interested in carrying and buy wholesale from them or what?
There are two ways to get product. One is to buy directly from the companies you wish to sell in your shop. The other is to find a distributor who handles all the manufactures’ products and sells directly to stores.
For either, you will need a letter of credit from your bank, a state tax id number, and a letter of incorporation.
