Purina Senior- half scoop
Purina Ultium- half scoop
Triple Crown Complete -full scoop
He doesnt need any of this extra stuff. He’s about 9 with no health problems at all.
I plan on switching him over to Purina Equine Adult.

It has everything he needs. Along with it he will be getting: Safflower Oil for hoof and coat, and Mortons Salt, and when needed Psyllium Powder (seasonal)
I know how to switch feeds over. I plan on doing it over a course of 2 weeks, slowly.
Do you recommend Purina Adult? Pros and cons?
I know he doesn’t need senior feed, i cant control it as i don’t own him just yet. Thats why im taking him off. The Adult feed I want to put him on IS for his age group without making them a hyped up.
Purina Adult or Purina Senior are both fine. My vet is also an equine nutritionist and she recommends Purina Senior for all adult horses. She has researched the US feed mills and visited them all, and was highly impressed with the quality control in the Purina Mills versus others. I would like to know where the poster above is getting her misinformation from. It certainly differs from that of my own vet who has personally investigated the mills.
I’ve fed it for years to adult horses for its superior digestibility and low glycemic index. Many people I know feed it to their hard keeper thoroughbreds of every age. I’ve seen colic-prone horses never colic again, and hard keepers gain and maintain weight when nothing else worked after they were put on Purina Senior.
So, I actually suggest using the senior feed, as I have no first hand experience with the adult formula, and nothing but excellent results with the senior feed.
