Colleges and horses, any suggestions?
I’m a junior this year in home school high school, I have horses that live on my property and I’m the only one that takes care of them and I like it that way. I’m not exactly sure what I want as a future carreer, I know something to do with animals, maybe a vet, maybe, if I can get over the blood and shots, yeck. I was hoping to find a college that had an equestrian team or something like it. I’d prefer it to be close to one of the coasts, just not the southeast ones, I’m not a big fan of the hot and humid places, lol. I’d like to keep my horses in pastures and have maybe a stall, and do work, mucking, grooming, feeding other things in exchange for lessons or a discount on boarding, is this possible in some of the colleges. I was looking at the lack erie college last night, but they have a few weird guidlines. So if any of you went to a college with a horse team or such or are planning to please give me the name of it. I recommend Pennsylvania! If you are looking at a private college, Seton Hill or Wilson College both have good equestrian programs. Penn State (my alma mater) has a great animal science program too. If you want to move to the Pittsburgh PA region, there are tons of colleges with close-by boarding stables to many. My stable is only 5 minutes away from a Penn State branch campus.
