what should i be feeding my horse?
I ride my horse twice, three times a week and for one whole day on the weekend, for a concentrated feed i normally give him 1 cup oats, half cup of sunflower seeds, salt, calcium ( table spoon ),liver mole ( which is just coat shiner and a few other minerals ) and sometimes copra to make sure he is maintaining weight. and i put 1 cup of apple cider vinegar in his 23 litre water container, i heard that is good for them and stops them chewing wood. So is this alright what im give him? should i give him more f something or less?
any help would be great thanks
oh and he is 14hh quarter horse, 7 yrs old.
what in the world?! Haven’t you ever heard of SafeChoice or Performance Horse? Oats is almost non existant feeding in the horse world, sunflower seeds haven’t been around in ages, and those other two aren’t even necissary if you’re feeding a good pelleted feed.
A trace block (for boredom if your horse chews wood), good grass or hay, and good clean water is the only other thing they should need.
