is it legal to have your dog ride in the back of your ute in nsw australia?
i know its illegal to have them untied in the ute tray but is it legal to have them tied in the ute tray and drive them from place to place?
we’ve taught my cattle dog to jump in and out of the ute and we’ve turned it on with her and i in the back and she seemed happy, my brother then drove aronud the drive way and she was actually prety hypo about it all and loved it
we have a rubber mat on the floor so she wont slip

I think that’s illegal to have a ute without a dog, utes without dogs are positively pansy.
Dogs travelling in the rear of utes must be caged or tethered in a manner that prevents them from reaching the sides of the vehicle. However, dogs that are used by farmers for droving stock are exempt from this law.
