High Energy Dog Food?
I am curious what others with high energy dog breeds feed for dog food. I have a cattle dog (aka Heeler) and while she is pretty energetic compared to other breeds (for example, a lab) compared to other cattle dogs she is not very energetic or driven. She’s not old, overweight or have any physical pain that would hinder her activity. She’s actually in great shape physically. I feel like maybe her dog food doesn’t give her enough to help her have the energy? I need to change dog foods anyways as my supplier is no longer going to bring in her food since there isn’t enough demand in this area.
More protein might be useful for sustained energy. Take a look at the guaranteed analysis portion of your dog’s food and compare it to other foods. Grain free foods are often good for high energy dogs. Less filler, more good quality stuff. Others see great benefit from a raw diet.
