How can I get my cat into her cat carrier?
My cat is 10 years old. She’s only been in a carrier a couple of times when she was a kitten, and she never goes outside since she’s an indoor cat. How can I get her to not be so afraid of being in her carrier?
There is one mistake in this: She wouldn’t be like this if she was in a carrier more often. I know its not your fault. So what can you do about this? So many will think you want to keep the carrier around her but that’s WRONG! You do NOT want to bring it around her if shes not going to be in it! She will get very confused if she is going to be in it or not. Only bring it around her if she is going to be in it. So how do you get her in it? Put a cat treat/toy inside the carrier. Make sure she knows it is in there. Then just let it sit there. Don’t try to call her in there. Only do so at the beginning. Once she is in there shut it right away, You DO NOT want her to escape after she gets the treat or toy.
