Is my horse a Gelding or Rig?
I bought a QH gelding earlier this year.
I was told he has fluid leaking in to his sack, making it sometime look like he has testicles. Somedays its there, other days he looks like a normail gelding. However it seems to be happening more often.
I was just wondering how many other people have heard of this happening?
He does not act like a rig, he is well behaved, so i cant see him being a rig.
I was told you can do a test to check the testosterone levels?
Thanks
you need a vet for this:this problem is common in dogs:the testicles remain in the abdomen, and make the dog look like he is castrated.
the animal is in fact sterile:the testicles cant produce “good semen”
unless they are out of the body.
I would ask the vet to examine the horse, and do a blood test too:testicles remaining in the abdomen cause problems later in life.
