Would you buy horse jumps?
I was thinking of some ways to make some money so i can lease this horse. I leased him this year and he has to go back to a camp soon, but i really want to get him again and i just need to make some money! I was thinking of making horse jumps, dressage letters, flower boxes for under jumps and that sort of thing! To the horse people out there, do you think i could make money selling these? Or would it just be kind of a waste of my money to make it! Let me know!! Thanks guys!
Yes i would have someone to help me and power tools! Thanks for the answer!
I love this questions. I love that she wants to earn this horse rather than convincing her parents to buy it.
What you are thinking of doing is ambitious – but might be more of an investment than you realize. You would be looking at starting a small business rather than making quick cash.
Do you know a lot of people with their own horses? If so here is an idea. When I was a teenager I bought horse brushes with wooden handles. They were $3 or $4 dollars each. Then I painted them a color – say blue – and then painted a horse on them – like a grey or chestnut- and then sold them for $8 to boarders with their own horses – doubling my investment. People really thought they were cute and soon were asking if I could do a bay with socks or an apply to look like their horses. If you cant paint you could get a stencil out line of a horse and still personalize the brushes with names or breed symbols.
If you do this make sure you use a good water proof varnish over the paint so that the design lasts a long time. If you explain to people that you are trying to earn money to lease a horse they will be interested. After all they are horse people too! Good Luck.
