Why does it seem like buckskins are always stockier looking?
I’m not saying its a fact, because buckskin is just a color, but I’ve noticed that a lot of buckskin (quarter horses) I see are always stockier looking. I have a 7 year old buckskin mare and right now I’m looking at a buckskin gelding for sale that is stocky built too. Is it just my imagination?
Most buckskins are stockier. Looking back on their heritage they tend to come from stockier breeds (mustangs and Spanish Barbs). Although the buckskin is recognized as a colour it is also has it’s own registry to promote it.
