How long does it take for a bowed tendon to heal?
My barrel horse bowed her tendon on her front left leg and I need to know how long it will take to heal…i forgot to ask my vet
The time really depends on the horse, where and how severe the injury, and how well you provide treatment for the horse. I normally give a 3-6 month minimum of stall rest with light hand walking depending on severity. I usually recommend light use of an aqua-tred at around 2 months.
If I may ask, is the injury to the SDF or DDF?
