Shooting a Water Buffalo actually doesn’t sound like much sport?

What is the object of shooting a Water Buffalo? Do you just do it to get a mountain of meat? What is the point?
wild buffalos are much more dangerous than you’d like to believe
this one is domesticated: http://animal.discovery.com/videos/untamed-and-uncut-gored-by-water-buffalo.html
