What are the differences Aussies and BCS?
I did some reading on both races, hoping to own one in the future, and most of the race profiles seem to say the same thing – lots of exercise necessary, extremely intelligent, probably needs a employment, not a dog, not a lap dog. Temperament-wise, they seem to be very similar, and I do not think either of them requires more exercise or grooming the other. Or am I wrong? I also read that BCS will use the eye for breeding, but the Australians tend to bark instead – however, since I do not own livestock, it is not a noticeable difference for me. For all owners BC – how did you decide to get a Border Collie on a Aussie? And vice versa, for owners of Aussie? They are both very intelligent breeds as far that my research told me … and any dog can be gentle, so high right …
I have owned both. Now I have a Blue Merle Australian Shepherd, a red merle Aussie and a German Shephered. Before I had two black and white border collie, and my parents recently passed an older one which was in a shelter … Basically after having both here is to Wha Ti can meet at the top: understanding temperament energy, food needs, is all the same. Dogs arent technically flat, but if the owner is a runner or take them to a park run daily (or at least 5 times a week) and the dog is actually getting rid of energy then its ok .. MY blue merle think it's a dog, but it's just because of how it was formed. The two races do not have to be working dogs, but if you found an older one which is a working dog, then he needs to go to a house where he can use that knowledge, or when its energy can be concentrated elsewhere. The blackbird Blue is happy with just learning. We will learn as much as possible to keep his mind active and going. The right red merle is now learning the hard catch.
