Potty training problems with our 12 week old Blue Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) puppy Please look!!?
Hello, so my wife and I bought our Blue Heeler puppy at 9 weeks from a breeder and he’s about 12 weeks now. He sleeps in his kennel every night, I’ve got him comfortable with tricks and tips I read online where now he’ll go in by himself . Everyone tells us dogs don’t like to go to the bathroom where they sleep (which he definitely doesn’t) but he goes 2-3 times a night. I get up 2-3 times when I hear him and take him out and clean it up and he goes back to bed. Is this normal because people say they learn to hold it till they get out of the kennel and when I tell them they say its very weird that he doesn’t hold it. Any expert advice, tricks, and tips would be much appreciated… Thank you.
Yes we have been doing no food after 9pm and taking him out right before bed we will try taking away water as well… Thank you
I agree remove his water 2 hours prior to bedtime. Make sure he pees before you put him in the crate. Even though you got him from a breeder if he was forced to go in a crate he is used to it. As gets older he will stop. It may take a few weeks.
