Do animal antibiotics go bad if not refrigerated? I need to know asap. Your help is appreciated!?
I have a goat that was attacked by a dog. He really needs some penicillin, but I’m not sure if the bottle that I have is still good. It’s an over the counter livestock antibiotic that was in the refrigerator when the power went out for a few days. The name on the bottle is Durvet Pen-Aqueous. It says to store at 36-46 degrees. If this is medicine is still effective, any at all, I would rather use this than leave the goat alone while I go to town to get more.
P.S. I don’t need a bunch of people telling me to take him to the vet. I’m perfectly capable of taking care of him right here at the house.
No..it wasn’t stored at 36-46 degrees for a few day. Best to buy some more.
Poor goat….♥
